1964 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster

1964 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster.
The 4.2 litre version arrived in October 1964, and was later dubbed the Series One. The new car looked identical to its predecessor except for a 4.2 badge on the boot-lid. Once again, Jaguar had pumped up its faithful DOHC six’s capacity to get more torque for its saloon cars that shared that engine.

The 4.2 got to 60 mph in 7 seconds and did the quarter mile in 14.9. These up-grades made the E-Type a much more pleasant car to drive and its performance was slightly improved too – although this issue is confused by some early road tests conducted with a “special” press car.

This is an absolutely stunning, steel blue with navy interior and top, 1964 Jaguar XKE 4.2 Litre Series I Roadster. This magnificent piece of art would be a fabulous addition to any collection. This is not your typical driver, but a high quality mechanical piece of art.

Whithout a doubt, it is one of the finest examples of the Series I XKE Roadster we have ever seen.

This car is every inch an Elegant Cat!
