Since the Exige S2 was launched, the power has increased from 190 hp through 220 hp and 240 hp – to 260 hp for the current Exige S 260 – and the new larger air intakes improve engine cooling for these current higher powered Exige variants. After an extremely successful production run, 2011 was the final year for the Elise, Elise SC and Exige in North America. We will not be receiving any more of these cars and no more orders can be placed. Get them while you can!
Exige S 260
Colin Chapman, the founder of Lotus is attributed as saying “adding power makes you faster on the straights; adding lightness makes you faster everywhere.” The Exige S260 does both! Through the extensive use of carbon fiber panels the S260 is approximately 50 pounds lighter, yet it also has an additional 17 horsepower on tap to propel it through whatever street scene or track experience you wish to throw at it.
