The R26 was BMWs first swing-arm single cylinder. It was produced from 1955 until 1961. The serial numbers of the model range from 340007 through 370242.
The R26 has a higher compression engine giving a modest power gain to 15 BHP, sufficient to propel the bike up to a quoted top speed of 75 MPH. It’s still no road burner, but very delightful to ride.
Black 1959 BMW R26 Vintage Motorcycle.
This motorcycle came for a Private Estate Sale and has been in storage since 1986. This is a great collector Motorcycle in exceptional original condition. The engine is a single cylinder 250cc with a 4 speed transmission. Please note that this Motorcycle has not been started in over 18 years and needs some mechanical attention. An extremely rare Motorcycle from BMW, the R26 250cc swing-arm single cylinder. A great addition to any Motorcycle collection.
