This auction is for a 1970 AMC AMX.
The AMC AMX debuted on Feb. 24, 1968, as a mid 1968 model. It was the first steel-bodied, two seat American production model since the 1957 Ford Thunderbird. American Motors created the AMX (American Motors Experimental) by slicing a foot out of its Javelin body, eliminating the rear seat, and making it a true two seat sports car.
The MSRP for the 1970 AMX increased to $3,395. For the added money, the buyer got a standard 360 cid V8 rated at an impressive 290 bhp. The front end and taillamps were also completely restyled. Atop the hood was a Ram-Air nduction scoop. This would be the last year for true two-seat AMX production.
This 1970 AMC AMX comes equipped with a 360 cid V8 rated at 290 bhp. The transmission is a four speed manual with a Hurst shifter and Twin-Grip rear differential. The exterior is Mossport Green with a black vinyl interior featuring new carpets. This classic Steel-Bodied two seater AMX is in good running condition. An extremely clean and solid car throughout. A great addition to any collection.
