2007 Lotus Europa S

2007 Lotus Europa S

The Europa S is based on the Elise but it’s larger and includes creature comforts like satellite navigation and leather trim. Lotus envisions a wider audience for the Europa S, so it has lower sills and a higher roof than the Elise to make getting in and out easier. Like the Elise, The Europa S features lightweight aluminum construction — its chassis weighs only 150 pounds. At 2200 lbs, the car is only about 10% heavier than the miniscule Elise. Power comes from a 200-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine from the GM of Europe inventory. Expect a 0-to-60 time of just under 5.5 seconds and a top speed tipping 140 mph. Lotus isn’t planning to bring the Europa S to the U.S., but we reckon that full-figured Americans need it more than anyone else.
